GEOFF BEESLEY
Founder
Geoff has almost 60 years experience in the shipping industry, the majority of which was spent with P&O. In 1997, after parting company with P&O, he saw the opportunity to start his own stevedoring business. He has managed Container and Consolidation depots, shipping agencies as well as stevedoring interests. His family approach to business has enabled him to build a sustainable, strong company.
Now retired, Geoff still has a passion and dedication to Newcastle Stevedores, and is proud of the legacy he has created. He still dreams fondly of his many stevedoring adventures, while also enjoying time with his grandchildren and family.
JAMES GRIFFITHS
General Manager
James Griffiths started with Newcastle Stevedores in 1998 as a Casual Waterside Worker. He has been fortunate enough to experience a wide exposure to the industry during the last 23 years, including roles within Shipping Agencies, Cargo Consolidation Facilities and here at Newcastle Stevedores. With a calm and measured approach to all he does, James brings strength and compassion to the business. His love of boats and the water extends to his weekends, where he enjoys sailing Lake Macquarie, and spending time with his wife and children.
MARK FARNHAM
Operations Manager
Recently joining Newcastle Stevedores in 2020, Mark brings a wealth of experience in the maritime field. Commencing as a trainee stevedore over 25 years ago, Mark has progressed his career through to managing port facilities. Mark is extremely experienced with bulk cargo, and is enthusiastic about joining the Newcastle Stevedores team. A down-to-earth genuine guy, Mark enjoys spending his spare time with family and friends out on the water in Port Stephens.

Wharf Superintendent
DARREL MADDEN
Darrel Madden has over 40 years experience as a waterside worker, having worked for Patrick and Strang Stevedores prior to commencing with Newcastle Stevedores in 2001. Darrel spent time working as a Grade 5 and 6 foreman, but it wasn't long before his talent and ability moved him up into the superintendent role. Darrel has an incredible ability to know and remember everything on every job, and often astonishes us all. He has well earned his position as the chief of general cargo.
Wharf Superintendent
JEFF HARVEY
Jeff Harvey is one of the Newcastle Stevedores original employees. Prior to Stevedoring Jeff had a very mechanical background. With over 15 years working as a Grade 5 and 6 foreman he moved into the role of Wharf Superintendent. His previous experience in the trucking industry in both the intra and inter state sector positions him perfectly to expertly managers our large fleet of equipment.

Our Office team have boat loads of experience in the industry!
Clive is our experienced and dedicated WHS&E and Training Manager, joining Newcastle Stevedores in 2004. His previous experience includes steelmaking, transport warehousing and distribution. Along with dry sense of humour, Clive brings a methodical and meticulous approach to all aspects of safety in our organisation.
With over 25 years in the industry, Gary navigates the flexibility our EBA offers and expertly manages staff rosters, assisted by Terri.
Melanie, Elizabeth and Kerrie have a combined 35 years working for Newcastle Stevedores, and between them, all the accounting, payroll, Human Resources and workers comp tasks are expertly and cheerfully covered.
